    Light Up Chinatown is one of 11 transformational projects announced by Governor Hochul as part of $20 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative. SOM Asian Alliance has a unique opportunity to help shape the design and vision for the next incarnation of this impactful project.

    Dimensions is the annual, student-produced journal of architecture at the University of Michigan. It seeks to contribute to the critical discourse of architectural education by documenting the most compelling work produced by its students, faculty, fellows, and visiting lecturers.

  • The 20-minute Suburb

    Through strategic interventions, existing suburban communities can be transformed to become places where residents can meet all of their daily needs within a 20-minute walk. This study re-envisions American suburbs as more affordable, interconnected, sustainable, and inclusive.

  • Wildfire Guidelines

    Studying the impact of wildfires which have become more frequent and severe due to the effects of climate change, our team of architects and urban planners has developed 18 design and policy guidelines for more resilient towns and buildings.

    With a focus on the challenges ahead for California, this document puts forward best-practice design guidelines for settlement patterns, urban design strategies, and architectural considerations that could strengthen resilience against wildfire.
